"The Curse of the Great Bambino"

Welcome true believers to another installment to the saga that is DSBH. To ring in the New Year, why not cap off the final DSBH game for the calendar year of 2004.

December 12, 2004 - FC DSBH versus WR Strikers

On one end lay us, the not so bad boys of our division. Third in the standings. The only team to defeat Fairview Auto on both occasions. And in the midst of a hot streak. On the other end lay WR Strikers. Young. At times inconsistent. And a team with a player that I can only describe as the "Babe Ruth" of soccer.

After a slow start, DSBH finally got into their groove. Once that happened, the floodgates were let loose. Andrew would score not once, but, twice. Thus giving him 8 points for the season and entrenching himself at 7th place in the division scorers standings. Matty would also add to the scoreboard by keeping up the tenacious offensive pressure and knocking one in off a rebound. Not only that, Matty continues his scoring streak against the Strikers. Yet, the offense would not end there. Inder would narrowly escape the "Petzold Award" once again. After numerous scoring chances, he finally converted.

As for the defense, it was consistent as per usual. Although, there were lapses, they would soon recover. Or Dan would pick-up the slack. Or WR Strikers would bail us out by missing. But honestly, our defense was good. Despite what Dan yells during games. Even so, Dan (with a little help with his defense) earned another clean sheet for the season. A feat that cements him in 5th among our division goalkeepers. One spot behind Noel. Hehehe . . .

With the conclusion of the game, the score was left at,

FC DSBH - 4

WR Strikers - 0

Not a bad way to end the first half of the season, no?

So until January 23, 2005 when DSBH faces Subway . . .

Go DSBH, Yeowwwwww . . .
